My new cleanser

I started washing my face with Manuka honey two days ago. I started washing only at night and today, I’m going to wash my face twice only with Manuka honey for a week to see how it goes.

This idea came up when I was reading on highonhealth.org about using natural honey to wash your face because it’s anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal. It’s also very hydrating for the skin which is perfect for the dry skin and oily skin doesn’t need any moisturizer anymore. Honey keeps the natural skin balance whereas other skincares, they tend to dry your skin out (think benzoyl peroxide “Proactiv products”). When a product like proactiv dries my skin out (I have oily skin), my skin tends to produce more oils which result to more skin problems (pimples and such).

To wash your face with honey, it doesn’t need to be the Manuka honey. Just as long as it’s natural and preferably local if possible is okay. I’ll report on how my skin is doing in a week or so. 🙂
